Connecting with Nature

A Hike with Glacier Middle School Y.E.T.I. Club

This past Saturday, the Glacier Middle School Y.E.T.I. Club went on a hike. For many students, it wasn’t just a walk in the woods—it was a break from their usual routine of school, homework, and everyday responsibilities, giving them a chance to experience something new.

One moment that really stuck with our staff was when Brian, a student in the group, walked up to a huge tree, wrapped his arms around it, and said, “It gives me energy.” It might sound simple, but it perfectly captures how nature can recharge us when we need it most.

At Y.E.T.I., we want every young person to have the opportunity to get outside and feel the positive impact of nature—just like Brian did. Whether through an after-school club, weekend trip, or special partnership program, we’re here to make that happen.

All of our programs are completely free, and we provide everything from transportation and gear to food and instruction, so students can simply enjoy their time outdoors. To learn more, visit goyeti.org/programs.
