February Recap

What a month it’s been! From new challenges to revisiting familiar favorites, here’s a look at what we were up to in February:

Snow Adventures

Some Y.E.T.I. Clubs teamed up with the Washington Alpine Club, Beverly Park went to Ollalie State Park, and Franklin High School took a 30-person trip to the pass. We also hit the snow with partners like Seattle Housing Authority and La Raza de Oro, plus hosted a high school open rec trip at Denny Creek Snowpark.

Biking Fun

Pacific Middle School Y.E.T.I. Club visited North SeaTac Park and Duthie Hill, while both Showalter Middle School and Evergreen High School Y.E.T.I. Clubs held on-campus bike introductions before heading to North SeaTac Park to put their skills to the test.

Fishing Days

Fishing brought a calm change of pace. Glacier Middle School Y.E.T.I. Club fished at Angel Lake, and Foster High School Y.E.T.I. Club started with an on-campus introduction before casting their lines at Angel Lake.

Trails and Tides

All of our Y.E.T.I. Clubs got out on the trails. They tackled hikes at Dash Point State Park, Seward Park, and SeaHurst Park. A few groups even mixed in some coastal fun at Alki Beach.

Climbing Time

Sylvester Middle, Glacier Middle, Cascade View Elementary, and Maritime High School Y.E.T.I. Clubs all climbed at Matt Griffin YMCA—with some clubs taking on the challenge more than once.

Chill Moments

Snowboarding quickly became a favorite activity. Through our partnership with the Chill Foundation, several Y.E.T.I. students hit Stevens Pass every week—learning new skills, challenging themselves, and returning home excited for the next session.
