We love hearing stories about how Y.E.T.I. gets young people excited about the outdoors, but every so often, we get a reminder of just how much our adventures stick with them. Recently, Sean, our Program Director, stopped by Big Picture and was immediately greeted by a handful of enthusiastic students. Their excitement? Biking!
The students couldn’t wait to ask if Y.E.T.I. would be hosting another bike seminar at their school this year. What made this moment even more special was hearing how they’ve been biking 3 miles to and from school regularly since last year’s seminar. That’s a 6-mile round trip every day, and they’re loving it! These students have made biking a regular part of their routine, getting outside and staying active.
This is exactly what we aim for with our programming—helping young people connect with nature through outdoor adventures close to home. By getting students out to local parks and trails, we’re not just introducing them to a fun activity for the day; we’re hoping to spark a lifelong love for outdoor spaces and activities that they can enjoy again and again in their daily lives.
We can’t wait to support Big Picture again this year—and hopefully inspire even more young people to ride on!
