January Recap: Kicking Off the Year with Y.E.T.I.

What a way to start 2025! January was packed with outdoor adventures, new skills, and a whole lot of fun. Here’s a quick look at what we got up to:

Hikes, Hikes, and More Hikes

Y.E.T.I. Clubs went all-in on hiking this month! Groups from Foster High, Pacific Middle, Sylvester Middle, Glacier Middle, Showalter Middle, and Maritime High School hit up parks like Marine View, Lincoln, Saltwater State, and Twin Falls. Whether walking through forests or along beaches, everyone brought their sense of adventure.

Trying New Things

January wasn’t just about hitting the trails—we tackled new challenges too:

  • Fishing: Y.E.T.I. Clubs from Pacific and Glacier Middle learned to cast lines and practice patience.
  • Climbing: Cascade View Elementary, Showalter Middle, and Sylvester Middle took on the YMCA climbing wall, testing their strength and building confidence one hold at a time.
  • Scavenger Hunts: Foster High, Sylvester Middle, and Maritime High took on fun and creative scavenger hunts on their campuses and in local parks.
  • Biking: Pacific Middle got an intro to biking on campus, learning how to ride safely and confidently.

Snowy Adventures

Y.E.T.I. Clubs from Evergreen High and Pacific Middle, Seattle Housing Authority, and WELS all ventured to the snowy trails at Snoqualmie Pass. Plus, we had an open-enrollment snowshoe trip, making it a month full of snowy fun!

The Big Picture

From hikes and snowshoeing to fishing and climbing, every moment this month was about more than just the activity. It was about building connections, growing confidence, and creating memories that’ll last a lifetime.

January set the bar high, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. Let’s keep the adventures going!
