Y.E.T.I. Advisory Board Launches!

The vision of long-time Board President Betsy Boyer is coming together in a big way, thanks to the leadership and dedication of Noah Harper, Y.E.T.I.’s most recent Board President and current Vice President. Together, they have helped formalize a group of passionate supporters who will continue to guide and uplift Y.E.T.I. into the future.

This newly formed Advisory Board, fondly called the Campfire Council, brings together teachers, volunteers, community partners, past board members, funders, donors, and other nonprofit leaders, all united by a shared commitment to expanding outdoor access for young people in King County through their support of Y.E.T.I. Work. We anticipate growing this group of advisors as they contribute their expertise, networks, and advocacy to strengthen Y.E.T.I.’s mission.

We are grateful for these growing voices as we navigate the funding uncertainties of this school year and build the roadmap for achieving the five-year strategic plan adopted by the board last spring.

At the Campfire Council’s first meeting, members reflected on Y.E.T.I.’s incredible growth over the past five years and discussed the key elements of the new strategic plan:

Public Lands & Schools
  • Grow and refine public school programs
  • Utilize local parks for outdoor learning
  • Co-create student-led experiences
  • Offer field trips and custom educational opportunities
Leveraging Collaboration
  • Expand partnership programs
  • Facilitate coalition work across South King County
  • Advocate for classrooms
  • Tell Y.E.T.I.’s story
Excellence in Delivery
  • Invest in our people
  • Enhance equipment and transportation
  • Foster student engagement and capstone experiences
  • Maintain high program quality through feedback
Y.E.T.I. Forever!
  • Grow and diversify funding
  • Recruit board members and strengthen succession planning
  • Establish an advisory group
  • Enhance operational systems
  • Engage supporters, volunteers, and alumni
It has always taken a broad and dedicated community to make Y.E.T.I. thrive. The new Campfire Council is one more way to carry that spirit forward, helping Y.E.T.I. reach even more young people with accessible time in nature.
