Y.E.T.I. is partnering with NWAC to offer an avalanche awareness and safety course at Snoqualmie Pass. Participants will learn how to asses avalanche terrain, use a beacon, and read snow conditions. No prior experience needed!
This program is open to students in high school.
Dates: This is a two-part course:
1. The first session will take place indoors at the NWAC office in North Bend on Friday, February 21, 2020. We will leave after school and return at 6:00.
2. The second session will be outside at Snoqualmie Pass on Saturday, February 29, 2020, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Once everyone is registered, Y.E.T.I. will determine pick-up and drop-off locations based on where the participants go to school and live.
What to Bring: comfortable waterproof shoes, lunch, a water bottle, layers to stay warm, layers to stay dry, and a backpack to carry it all in.
Through our partnerships, we are able to outfit participants in boots, warm layers, and dry layers. Please notify Y.E.T.I. at least two weeks before the trip of your sizes and what gear you need.
Cost: At Y.E.T.I. we strive to make programming accessible to all and use a sliding fee schedule to fit the budgets of all families. Please contact email@example.com if you have any questions or need further financial support to make this happen for your student.
